Start with core journeys, not decorative chrome. Prioritize thumb reach, readable type scales, and performance budgets that keep interactions under a blink.
Responsive systems should expand gracefully, not merely stretch. Desktop layouts should reveal hierarchy and density without abandoning the clarity you established on mobile.
Test with real devices and real network conditions. The best designs survive the commute, the café Wi-Fi, and the one-handed scroll.
